June 5, 2026 13:02 - Scheduled Network Maintenance Outage June 12 and 13 from 9 pm to 2 am View
Please be advised that IT Services will replace the hardware for the campus perimeter network on June 12 and 13. This is part of Queen's Network Modernisation Program to improve speed, capacity, and security.
Planned outage windows:
- Friday, June 12, 9 pm – Saturday, June 13, 2026, 2 am, and
- Saturday, June 13, 9 pm – Sunday, June 14, 2026, 2 am
Note that the intent is to complete all work overnight on June 12. Should work not be completed on June 12, the second outage window overnight on June 13 will be required.
All centrally hosted services are affected. Departmentally hosted services and applications may also be affected.
Generally:
- Users on campus will be able to access on-campus services from the campus network.
- Users off-campus will be able to access off-campus (cloud-based) services.
- Some services will be completely unavailable.

Service owners can contact the NGN Transition Team if:
- They need assistance to understand the impact of the outage
- They would like to be added to a dedicated Perimeter Migration Support Teams Channel for real-time updates
- There is a problem with their service after the maintenance window
