Classroom upgrades are coming! Archived No-RSS

  • During the next 4 months, Information Technology Services (ITS), in partnership with the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Physical Plant Services (PPS), will be upgrading the teaching and learning experience in the lecture theatres and classrooms noted below:

    • Dupuis Hall Auditorium
    • Humphrey Hall Auditorium
    • Walter Light Hall Auditorium
    • Ellis Hall 324/327
    • Ellis Hall 226
    • Convocation Hall in Theological Hall

    During each room’s scheduled renovation period (see below), the room will be unavailable for use. If this conflicts with any plans to use the room, please contact Room Reservations http://queensu.ca/roomreservations or the Register’s Office http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/home (course bookings).

    Some of the benefits……
    Upon completion of the Summer 2018 renovation cycle, all large lecture theatres across campus will be equipped with a consistent suite of technologies and controls. The newly-renovated classrooms will include laser projections, with improved video display quality, a reduction in power consumption and no more mercury-filled bulbs. All microphones will be rechargeable, eliminating the need for batteries, and all the podiums will be replaced with height-adjustable AODA-compliant podiums.


    Need some help?
    Tutorials to assist with the transition to the new technology and equipment will be available on the ITS webpage once the renovations have been completed. Faculty members that are scheduled to teach in the newly-renovated rooms will be provided the opportunity to receive in-person training during August and September.
