Changes coming to older versions of Microsoft Outlook for Windows – action may be required Archived

Starting in November 2021 and continuing through May 2022, Microsoft is making changes to disallow the use of older versions of Outlook for Windows email software.

No changes are being made to Queen's email accounts. Users will still be able to access their Queen’s email through a web browser by logging in to: https://outlook.com/queensu.ca.

Required user actions

Users who are not using a supported version of Outlook for Windows should upgrade as soon as possible. Affected versions of Outlook are posted on the Outdated Office products to cease connectivity to Office 365 webpage. Users can visit the What version of Outlook do I have? page to see which version of Outlook they are using.

Because upgrade paths depend upon the version of Outlook that is being used, users are instructed to contact the IT Support Centre with any questions or for assistance by visiting the online Service Portal and clicking on Get IT Help (authentication via NetID is required to fill out the form). Users can also call 613.533.6666 (see the IT Services website for hours).
