Network interruption due to this morning's Storm. Update Archived

The source of network traffic causing congestion was traced to an IT room in Goodes Hall and isolated. This has resolved the following issues:
-intermittent connectivity to services and internet
-no login screen when connecting to queensu unsecure wireless

Congestion on the management network is causing routing updates to time out which is making some destinations intermittently unreachable. ITServices and Cisco are continuing to work on the problem.

Several buildings have reported continuing issues with intermittant or very slow network connectivity to some campus services and internet. ITServices has engaged Cisco tech support to assist with diagnosis and resolution.

Network services have been restored across campus. There may be slow performance while ITServices tracks down a source of excess traffic on the backbone network.
