Some Applications Do Not Work on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) Archived
The newest Apple Operating System, OS X 10.7 (Lion), was released on July 20. Before you upgrade to 10.7, take note that Lion does not include Rosetta, Apple’s compatibility environment for running PowerPC applications. This means that some applications and software packages commonly used at Queen’s will not work in OS X 10.7. In particular, this impacts:
- Oracle Calendar client for Macintosh
- Office 2008 (and older)
- Adobe CS4 (and older)

As well, Lion does not recognize Entrust Certificates in Safari. Users may therefore receive a warning when they try to access some services.
