Linux Vulnerability (Dirty Cow Exploit) Archived
A flaw in Linux operating systems has recently been discovered and an update is available. The flaw can be used to gain unauthorized access to information and systems, putting Queen’s digital information and environment at important risk.

It is important to update all Linux operating systems

Centrally managed servers and enterprise services:
· IT Services (ITS) has identified the systems affected and will be rolling out system updates in phases beginning Oct 28, 2016.
· Service owners will be contacted to schedule a suitable day/time for the update.


Non-centrally managed servers or services:
· Each faculty and department responsible for managing Linux servers are requested to apply the update accordingly.
