On Wednesday, September 3 from 6:30 to 7:30, the new Moodle dashboard will be launched along with an update to the way Moodle handles course files. We do not expect an interruption in service.
Dashboard:
The new dashboard has an updated look and feel, and will now display the personalised calendar from 2014-15 academic Moodle.
File Handling:
As part of the new Copyright Act, when a file is uploaded by faculty members or their staff to Moodle, the reason the file can be uploaded must be indicated. A dialogue box will now appear that allows users to pick one or more reasons why the file can be distributed to students. If a uses has files in his/her course that don't have a reason specified, a warning message will appear. This warning message will not appear to students. A report listing all of the files that do not have a reason specified will also be available inside the course. More general information can be found here: http://library.queensu.ca/copyright/form
