Microsoft will be ending support for System Centre Endpoint Protection (SCEP) for Mac (Microsoft’s antivirus solution for Mac computers) on December 31, 2018. SCEP will continue to function, but will no longer be updated with new signatures. Microsoft has now partnered with ESET (an antivirus company/product) to provide enterprise customers with ESET Endpoint Protection for one year as a bridging strategy. IT Services will support the migration of Macs to the supported ESET product while we pursue a long-term antivirus solution.
ESET recommends that users with a supported version of macOS (10.9 and higher) simply install ESET over any existing installations of SCEP.
ESET is available for staff and faculty to install from MyQueensU.
