HP Notebooks - Windows Update Service Not Running
Archived
HP notebooks with Western Digital high density hard drives are giving a Windows Update Service Not Running, please restart your computer.
We have found that it is resolved by downloading and installing the following update from HP.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp47501-48000/sp47845.exe
This update is for the SATA controller.
The error could also appear when trying to run Windows Mail and/or when trying to use a large memory key. It is explained in detail at this site.
