Microsoft Office 365 - Corrective Provisioning to POP3 ProtocolArchived
Background Information: When email service was migrated to Office 365 in January 2013, POP3 service was disabled to the Queen's student community. When Microsoft upgraded Office 365 email service at the beginning of September 2013, it came to our attention that a number of Office 365 accounts are still provisioned for POP3 service. POP3 is an email protocol that transfers email from a server to a local device.
Resolution: To rectify this issue, ITServices will be applying a patch on Monday, September 23, that will ensure that POP service is correctly disabled for all Office 365 users. We expect this process to be completed within 24 hours.
