Phishing Messages Sent from Queen’s Email Accounts Archived
A number of compromised accounts have been used to send out phishing emails to other Queen’s account holders.
The from address will show that the email comes from a valid Queen’s account holder, but the message of the email is requesting a response that users should recognize as a phishing attempt.
The message in the email may be similar to this example that was reported recently:
Dear queensu.ca server account user. Please note, that we want to improve our MAIL
services in 72 hours and your account must be updated.
To upgrade your account, you need to log in to your account again using the upgrade
link below;
Click the upgrade link below and sign-in into your account again.

If you receive a message of this type, do not follow the link and please trash the email.
