Microsoft Office 365 unavailable for some Queen’s Staff Aug 28-29th UpdateArchived
Licensing of Microsoft Audio Conferencing was also affected over the weekend. Some staff will have received an email from Microsoft Audio Conferencing <maccount@microsoft.com> with the subject "You now have Audio Conferencing for Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business Online - here is your dial-in information and PIN". This is expected as the license was re-added, staff should use the new PIN as needed.
ITS is investigating a licensing issue with Microsoft Office 365 that caused some Queen’s staff members to temporarily lose access to their email and other office applications.
All accounts have been restored. For 600 Staff accounts, from Saturday August 28th at 2:30pm through Sunday August 29th at 11:30am email could not be received. For the another 3000 staff accounts, the access was temporarily lost for 20-30 minutes on August 28th around 2:30pm and it is possible that some email was not received during that time. Anyone who sent email to an affected user received a bounce back message letting them know their email was not successfully sent.
ITS is working with Microsoft to determine the cause of the issue.
If any staff are still experiencing connectivity issues please report immediately to the IT Services Support Centre (https://queensu.service-now.com/esm)
