As part of ongoing maintenance and to improve security of the Queen's directory, IT services will be taking action on inactive devices in the directories on October 31, 2024.

- Devices inactive for more than 22 months will be deleted from EntraID and Active Directory

- Devices inactive for more than 18 months will be disabled in both EntraID and Active Directory

Additional information for IT admin reps can be found on the IT Admin Rep SharePoint site, including how to tell if a device is disabled or deleted and how to obtain BitLocker keys if the device has been deleted.

No action is required, however if there is any known Queen's owned devices that have been shelved/powered off for more than 22 months that should maintain access to the directory, powering on the system and accessing the Queen's network is required. It is also important to patch any system that has been shelved for any duration immediately.
