Service Disruptions October 29 Due To Dupuis Hall Power Shutdown Archived
Physical Plant Services requires that power to the Dupuis Hall ITServices wing be shut down on Saturday, October 29, 2011, to complete installation of the permanent backup diesel generator. Many services will be unavailable between 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Shut down of services is expected to start at 3:00 AM on Saturday, October 29th. During this time, limited temporary power will be available for the following essential services:

- Internet access (including DNS and DHCP)
- main Queen’s website (www.queensu.ca), WebPublish websites, and many other Queen’s websites
- email (excluding Exchange)
- Oracle Calendar
- Notifylink
- Listserv mailing lists

All other services will be shut down before power is disconnected, and restarted once power is restored. Resumption of services will take as much as four hours to complete after power is restored. Affected services include (but are not limited to):

- MyQueensU/PeopleSoft, including SOLUS
- Moodle
- QShare
- Wiki
- Streaming service
- eServices applications
- mainframe (including PCICS and data warehouses)

As well, the library website and QCat Catalogue will be unavailable, but it will still be possible to search for books and access electronic information resources (databases, ejournals, ebooks, etc.) through the library's Summon search tool: http://queensu.summon.serialssolutions.com/ .
