Please note that a number of details that were sent regarding the outage on October 29th from 6 am until 12 pm have changed. Please note the following corrections:


During the upgrade period, the internet on both wireless and wired networks throughout campus will be intermittently available. The internet is expected to be up through parts of the outage, but is expected to lose connection to the internet in 15 minute intervals.


You will be unable to access Queen’s resources such as VPN, my.queensu.ca and Single Sign-On services during these intermittent 15 minute outages.


If you are on campus, your devices will be able to access local network drives and websites hosted on Queen’s campus.

Please note the time change of this outage. The outage will now take place between 6 am - 12 pm.




ITS will be performing a border router upgrade resulting in a planned network outage on Sunday, October 29 from 6 am - 12 pm. This upgrade is part of a continued effort to strengthen Queen's network availability, resilience and performance.


During the upgrade period, there will be limited or no access to the internet on both wireless and wired networks throughout campus.


If you are on campus, your devices will be unable to access the internet or local network drives and resources during this period.


Off campus, access to services such as SOLUS, OnQ, MyQueensU and the main Queen's website will be generally accessible with only minor interruptions expected. These resources will generally not be available from within campus during the upgrade period.
