Removal of Malware Message from Queen's Mailboxes – 190305 Update Archived
There are several different subjects of these messages and they include:

application
Job
Regarding position
Job Application
Hiring

and they include an attached resume. Senders email addresses come from the domain @cox.net.

An example message is included below, but messages may differ slightly:

"How is your day?
My name is [REDACTED] and I'm interested in a job.

I've attached a copy of my CV.
The password for the document is 1234


Thank you!"

Previous Description (March 5, 2019 09:07):

On Tuesday, March 5th, a malicious email was sent to members of the Queen's community. In keeping with the Electronic Information Security Policy, this message is being removed from all mailboxes using an automated feature in Office 365.

Please delete the message manually from your mailbox if you have received a copy.

If you are not using an Office 365 mailbox or forward your mail outside of Office 365, ITS is not able to automatically remove the malicious message.

If you received this message, and opened the attachment, please contact the IT Support Centre for assistance. Antivirus definitions may not detect the malware at this time.
