Beginning March 1, 2022, Dell Computer users may have received threat detection notices for a trojan called CryptoStealBTC (Trojan:HTML/CryptoStealBTC) and were unable to remove or quarantine the threat within the Windows Security app.

Microsoft has released new virus definitions in update version v1.359.1276.0 that resolves the issue.

Affected users should update the Window Security app through the following steps:

1. Click Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Check for updates


2. Once the updates have completed, restart your device


3. Open the Windows Security app by clicking Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options > select Full Scan > Scan now
